Another day where my mind is wandering around my past and dithering with where the future will lead me.
"At a first glance one would say that I am just a ‘businessman’ or should I say business ’woman’ to be more precise .
There's passion and pleasure , as I firmly believe my success depends not so much on the destination but rather the journey that leads me there. It's how I reach my destination that enriches my life, and enjoying life is what we're all here to do on this beautiful little planet. I can't say I've necessarily achieved my goals using conventional methods; maybe it's just the rebel in me! I've been called 'a colorful person,' not for my choice of clothes, but because I smile a lot. Smiling is contagious, and joy is too , which is why I try to stay in touch with the emotional side of business. In short, I'm just a girl who decided to go for it. After all, why shouldn't it be me who has her day of glory someday? At first, some things seemed complicated or even 'impossible,' which brings me back to Lewis Carroll who wrote in 'Alice in Wonderland,' "Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast," sound advice I thought, and promptly advanced with impossible projects going forward confidently in the direction of my dreams."
"So what's next?" I ask myself with haste and maybe even a little apprehension. Surely something just as unexpected as in the past, something that will yet again surprise me. To quote another of my beloved authors: "My life starts just beyond my comfort zone" - David Bowie.
Actually, it's the transmission that drives me today, the transmission of the business as well as the transmission of culture, "sharing". I'm passing on my company to my children, and faced with the new dynamics opening up before them, they will need to tackle crucial challenges :
- Giving profound meaning to their actions,
- Anticipating emerging trends,
- Improving operational efficiency,
- Adopting rigorous management,
- And promoting innovation and sustainable development.
Having passed on my position as CEO to Nicolas, I become the artistic director and also dedicate myself to creating a biennial of contemporary French performing arts in Cannes. The theme of this first biennial is to pay a vibrant tribute to Cannes and its light. Now, art no longer merely adorns; it becomes a central element of the hotel's design. This vision has been skillfully integrated by our fantastic designer, Ramy Fischler.
The Canopy by Hilton in Cannes, inspired by the cultural transformation of our society, aspires to reflect the times by showcasing artists. This approach aims at democratizing contemporary art, engaging less familiar audiences. This is also about sharing. Our project is not to accumulate works of art; our project is to become a showcase or platform for artistic expression, aiming to evoke emotions.
Our era calls for spirituality, culture, individual emancipation, and social cohesion. "Culture is the most powerful protector of the free world against the demons of its dreams; its most powerful ally in leading humanity to a dream worthy of man because it is the heritage of the nobility of the world." Closing of Andre Malraux's speech on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the French Institute of New York - 1962.
